Yorkshire Terriers are tiny but energetic, with fast metabolisms. Feed a premium small-breed kibble formulated for toy breeds, divided into two or three small meals per day for adults and four for puppies under six months.
Avoid table scraps, fatty treats and bones — Yorkies have delicate digestive systems and are prone to pancreatitis. Fresh water must always be available in a clean, shallow bowl.
A tablespoon of high-quality wet food can be mixed in for fussy eaters, but dry kibble helps maintain dental health by reducing tartar build-up.
