The Yorkshire Terrier
We breed to the KUSA standard — these are the qualities we strive for in every IRMADU Yorkie.
General Appearance
A long-coated toy dog, compact and well-proportioned, carrying itself with an air of importance. The Yorkshire Terrier is a true 'big dog in a small body'.
Size & Weight
Must not exceed 3.2 kg (7 lbs). Ideal weight 1.8–2.7 kg (4–6 lbs). Quality is never sacrificed for size.
Coat & Colour
Hair on body moderately long, perfectly straight, glossy fine silky texture. Colour: dark steel blue (not silver blue) from occiput to root of tail; rich golden tan on head, chest and legs.
Head & Expression
Small, flat skull; short muzzle; bright, intelligent dark eyes with dark eye rims. Ears small, V-shaped, carried erect. The expression is alert and keen.
Temperament
Spirited, intelligent and devoted. Despite its size, the Yorkie retains the terrier's boldness and makes an alert, lively companion.
